Episode 12: Building the Dumas 41′ USCG Utility Boat in 3/8″ = 1 foot scale

Episode 12: Filling and Sanding the Hull

I cut this video short because I plan to reattach the cabin to the hull, since I am not powering the boat. So additional filling will be done at that point before I can prime the hull. I used red glazing putty to fill the small gaps, but anything 1/16″ inch or more I back-filled with a piece of scrap wood, as the putty does not do well with wider gaps. One could use “Bondo,” as suggested in the directions, but on a boat this small, It’s a little difficult to apply, even with my micro spatulas.
